Our Calabash Gourds are made in Argentina & made with love.

These traditional gourds are how the South Americans consume their Yerba Maté & we can see why as these gourds are clean energy!

These gourds are made out of a fruit called Calabash & have to be cured before use.

Please note: we do not cure the gourd as that is a personal journey & we have instructions as to how to cure the gourd that will come with your purchase. Gourds usually take between 2-5 days to cure.

Combined with the loose leaf tea filter straw called a Bombilla, the dream team for an amazing Yerba Maté experience. The filter straw can be used not only with Yerba Maté but also loose leaf teas such as Herbal Blends, Damiana, Blue Lotus, Chamomile, etc.

Simply place your Yerba Maté (or other loose-leaf herbal tea) in the cup, add the straw to the cup.

Next step is that you want to protect the herb you have placed in the gourd to be brewed: the best way to achieve this is by adding a few table spoons of cold water to the herb.

Bring your water to the boil and allow to cool for at least a few minutes: bringing the temperature down to below 75 degrees Celsius - [once again to protect the herb from being COOKED instead of brewed]

Place your filter straw (bombilla) inside your cup and begin the enjoyment.

Continue to top up your cup with hot water until the Yerba Mate sinks to the bottom of the cup.
